Front Cover:
Nicki Minaj has a unique Digipak. The Front cover of the digipak mainly visualizes the Recurring Motif of Nicki Minaj. The Font used is almost feminine like as girly handwriting, to show the artists target audience as unisex. The cover of the digipak is not to complicated, it is eye catching and concentrates on the centrally anchored image. As shown in my Westlife analysis, an artists specific target audience, learn to relate to the artists themes, colours, fonts etc. E.g. In Nicki Minaj's album cover 'Pink Friday' (shown above), the main colour she uses is pink which references to the album name 'Pink Friday'. The outfits Nicki Minaj wears' are made to look like they have no adequacy or imperfection. As the outfit in the above digipak shows, the artist is shown in the Laura Mulvey's theory of male gaze, where a female attractive traits endure the male gaze, hence build a demographic and subverted audience. Back Cover:The back of the Digipak is almost identical to the front of it. Their is a similar image of the artist (Nicki Minaj) on the back as there is on the front. Pink, a feminine colour is used again to keep continuity for the digipak as a whole. The picture is again taken in the form of male gaze to attract the most part of the artists target audience. As the front cover has feminine handwriting fonts', the back cover has plain and simple, black and white text. This is to make the main information on the digipak clear and not hard to read. The record label and sponsor information are anchored down below all the main text on the back. This is because it disrupts the main part of the back cover; the image and embedded text.
